Using the Ring Connection with SimpleCommands
SimpleCommands provides almost all of the features you enjoy on the Ring app, but with ubiquitous and simplified control.
Use your camera's ability to detect motion as a trigger for your SimpleCommands Routines. Set off any sort of action to notify you when your camera detects motion such as starting you Neato vacuum cleaner to scare away any potential intruders, flash your lights red or even create a custom announcement via Voice Clips.
Set your security system to 'Armed home', 'Armed away' or 'Disarmed' to keep your home secure for any occasion. You can also start and stop your alarm's siren directly from SimpleCommands. Just like cameras, you can trigger Routines based off a change in state of your alarm or siren, setting off a myriad of different actions throughout your smart home.
Make your chime make a noise manually or through a Routine. The latter allows you to play the chime as a custom notification for a specific event in your smart home, such as your washing machine finishing a load.
Turn your lights and switches/outlets on and off, and adjust their brightness and color too (if applicable)! Adjust the brightness on all your dimmers too.
Lock and unlock your door from anywhere. Make sure your home is always secure!
Get alerts when your motion sensors are triggered. Use these alerts in conjunction with Routines to make your home even smarter.
Prevent damage by always knowing when there is a leak in your home
Just like locks, check in on your open/close sensors from anywhere to make sure your windows and doors are all closed and secure!
Check in on your smoke alarms to make sure they are always running smoothly.
Your Ring Items are the names of the smart devices in your Ring account. If the Item name is not to your liking you can add a SimpleName and use that name instead.
